Little Things

Hi!

It's been a while since my last post, sorry about that. But it's a good thing in a way... Before moving to London I didn't do much, just stayed at home playing, reading, scrolling in the depths of internet so there wasn't much to tell. And now for the past few weeks that's pretty much all I've been doing here. That might sound really boring but the truth is that I enjoy staying at home and do absolutely nothing productive (you did not just hear a university student say that!).

So in order to avoid going outside I'll give you a glimpse of my room!
The room was obviously ready furnished so in order to make it feel like home I had to decorate (=throw stuff around and make a huge mess) it with things that are important to me.

These 10 things I need to make home:

1. Lucky Cat
Luckkyyy
I bought it from Little Tokyo in LA in 2013 and it has been waving it's paw in my room ever since! The cat is believed to bring wealth and prosperity for it's owner so that kinda sums up why I hold that ticking bastard so close to my heart.

2. Posters

I have decorated my room with posters basically my whole life and I can't seem to be able to change this habit. I've tried to stop buying posters but I found this amazing 5 Seconds of Summer poster from HMV that I just had to buy, it's like made for that wall! (Fun Fact: I wrote this before I bought that 1D poster, things are getting out of hand) The oldest poster I still have is a picture of Corey Taylor. It's been on my wall for a couple of years now and I've grown really fond of it so I couldn't leave it to Finland.

3. Calendar
Johnlock

I have obsession with wall calendars and I use a lot of time thinking what calendar I'll be buying next year. It's really satisfying to cross the date when the day is over. You could say it helps me keep up to date..!

4. Manga

Okay so I've been into Japanese comics since I was a kid and I have a huuuuge collection back home so there's no way I could have taken them with me here so I just order new ones from Amazon! I usually take one to read on the tube or train when I'm going somewhere, it's a great way to pass time.

5. Post Cards

I had this habit in Finland to put postcards on my windowsill and here I pin them on the board! My friend, who lives in France at the moment, sends me really pretty cards and mom sends me lovely Moomin cards with adorable and motivational quotes. The blue Moomin card freely translates to "If the the direction is right you just have to keep on going." And when I got that card I was in tears and like, wow mom this is amazing well done you! London feels like the right direction and there's no way I'm turning back.

6. Games
I MISS MY PLAY STATION 3 SO BAD IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY! And I don't really call Candy Crush a game so it doesn't help this gaming fever at all. That's why I brought my 3DS and PSP with me. Haven't really played much though... Nothing can replace my PS3 and it pains me to think how much time I would actually have to play here 'cos the days at uni are not that long.

7. Eddy-Bear
Edbb
I have a bunch of soft toys in Finland, I wish I could have taken them all with me but I thought that clothes are more important (how stupid of me). But I couldn't leave Eddy-Bear because he's the one that I hold when going to sleep.

8. Salmiakki chewing gum

Okay this is not actually an item but I need to include this. I use a lot of chewing gum and my favourite flavour happens to be salmiakki (Finnish sweet, kinda like salty liquorice) and I can't get it from London so I just packed three packages with me to get through until Christmas.

9. Radio
I can't sleep if I don't have radio open. I can't fall asleep in a complete silence, I love waking up in the middle of the night when my favourite songs come on the radio and I like waking up to news to know what's happening in the world at the moment. I had to buy new radio when I got here but it's small and only cost £10 so yay!!!

10. Laptop
Oh, this has to be the most cliched one. Obviously I need my laptop, it's essential but I just wanted to include it because it means the world to me. I need it to do my school work, use the internet, watch movies, listen to music and to breathe (too much?)

So there's the things I need to make myself feel like home (excluding PS3)! :)
I hope this post wasn't boring because it didn't include running on the streets of London but I promise you I'll go outside for the next post!

There's a comment box for a reason so do tell what you think of this post or my blog in general. And I would love to hear what items are important to you, so feel free to share!

See you next time!!! :)
